Having a cool lockscreen for smartphones is quite popular on Android and the iOS. This got popular from iPhone’s “slide to unlock” lockscreen and since then, there have been several lockscreens available for the Android OS. The pattern password lock got really popular and still is a favorite of most Android users and with the update of Ice Cream Sandwich, other LockScreens came up including face recognition and the Stock Android lock. However, these have been around for a long time and if you’re looking for a cool new lockscreen replacement, then you should try Picture Password Lockscreen.

Microsoft’s Windows 8 tablets and laptops feature a beautiful lockscreen with a custom image and this app is based on the Windows 8 lockscreen. If you don’t want to type your password when unlocking or if you’ve had enough of the pattern unlock, then Picture Password is the perfect alternative. It looks exactly like the Windows 8 lockscreen and also supports multiple gestures.

You can set any HD image as the background for the lock and to unlock the device, you can use different types of custom gestures. You can draw dots, patterns, lines, circles or a combination of different patterns for unlocking. In order to set up the lock, you need select an image and draw any sort of gesture. Once you save it, the picture will be displayed and you’ll have to draw the saved gesture in order to unlock the device.

Apart from the basic features, the Plus version of Picture Password lockscreen offers additional features including a tasker plugin.  Time and date are also displayed on the lockscreen and you can change the theme colors as well. The plus version also supports additional gestures.

Picture Password lockscreen can be downloaded using this link and it should work on most Android devices with firmwares 2.1+.
