Diggbar is live with shorturl service

Digg.com has just launched a virtual toolbar called the DiggBar that lets users submit stories to digg, shorten the URLs. Using the diggbar users can digg directly on the site itself, the URL can be shared on other sites like Twitter, Facebook and email to friends. (test link to try)

Using Diggbar is easy, just add “digg.com/” before any URL and Diggbar will overlay othe page you are in. The Diggbar shows numbed of diggs a story received and comments etc. If the story has not yet been submitted, it shows a submit button. It shows the comment count in the diggbar, clicking comments will show you Top comment, latest comment and most controversial comment right on the page, you can click to read more comments that will take you to the digg story page.

Related link will show related stories and the source link shows more stories from the same source submitted to digg.

One interesting feature is it has a “Random” button which lets you stumble through random stories on digg something like Stumbleupon. What do you think of this feature?.

The diggbar may get popular with users, since it is one of the easy ways to create short URLs for sharing links with sites like twitter. Diggbar also shows number of times the story has been viewed. Offial Digg Blog
