Karbonn has launched two budget Android smartphones in the Indian market, Karbonn Smart A1* and Karbonn Smart A5*, these are priced at Rs. 3,514 and Rs. 4,890 respectively. Both these phones are the successors of the earlier launched Karbonn A1 and Karbonn A5 phones. Both these phones are dual SIM phones, the A1 Star runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich while the A5 Star runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
Karbonn smart A1 star is powered by a 1Ghz processor with 256 MB RAM. It features a capacitive multi touch display at HVGS resolution (320 x 480 pixels). It comes with 512MB of internal storage, 1450mAh Battery under the hood. A 3MP camera is added at the back and a VGA front camera. It looks like this phone only supports 2G, no 3G, other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.
Karbonn smart A5 is powered by a 1GHz processor with 256MB of RAM. It comes with an internal memory of 512MB. It features a 3.2-inch HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) resolution. There is a 1200mAh battery under the hood to power up the device. On the camera department it comes with a 3.2MP camera at the rear and a VGA front camera for video calling.
