WhatsApp rolling voice messaging feature to all platforms

WhatsApp, the messaging application on almost all the mobile platforms is pushing its voice messaging feature starting today. WhatsApp is the most popular messaging application, and it now boasts 300 million active users to its rooster. It is competing with the likes of WeChat, Line, Hike and other messaging apps on smartphones.

WhatsApp voice messaging feature is rolling out today to Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and Nokia Symbian devices according to its CEO Jan Koum, who told to AllThings D. Voice messaging on other app like WeChat and Voxer is there from quite some time. WhatsApp makes it easy to send voice messages, with a push of the Mic button you can record and send voice message to recipients.

With a single tap a voice message can be sent with WhatsApp. “The number of taps matters. People want to send a message and be on their way,” Koum said. Users can tap the mic button and when you are done recording the message is sent, if you want to delete it you can swipe left and it is gone.

Another feature it added is there is no time limit for the recording. “The volume automatically switches from speaker when held at arm’s length to soft when held next to an ear.” The blue mic icon indicates that your voice message has been played on the other end.

According to him, the latest update will hit users in 24 hours and will be available on all platforms. The next feature that is perfected in the next release is the media according to Koum, we are looking forward to it.
