Moto X engraving option put on hold, citing quality concerns

Moto X is launching this Friday on AT&T, it will be available along with the Moto Maker web based tool for customizing the phone according to users taste. One of the coolest features of this phone is level of customization it offers, in the list of customizations one feature that stand out is the engraving on the back shell. Unfortunately Motorola has put this feature on hold citing quality concerns, so users who order phones through Moto Maker can’t add their text for engraving.

According to JR Raphel, contributor to PCWorld Mag, the feature has been put on hold as it didn’t meet Motorola’s quality guidelines for printing, this was observed during beta testing. If you really want this feature you might have to wait as Motorola will introduce this feature at a later time, but not at the release this Friday on AT&T.

This was confirmed by The Verge, Motorola spokesperson confirmed this and told that they will sort out the problem and offer the feature in the near future.
