Google Maps adds Waze real-time traffic reports

Google acquired Waze mapping and navigation app this June, and after the acquisition Google is now including Waze real-time traffic reports into Google Maps product. Waze is a mapping app for mobiles that gets traffic reports from its users. Since the acquisition Waze is functioning independently out of its Israel offices.

Google announced on its blog that both Google Maps and Waze teams are working together to bring the crowd sourced Waze traffic incident reports to Google Maps for Mobile. Waze users report on accidents, road blocks, construction and more real-time, these updates will also appear on Google Maps for iOS and Android applications. The updates will be available in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Switzerland, UK and the US.

Waze apps on Android and iOS platforms will see integration of Google Search, another feature that made it to the Waze app is, the Waze Map editor now includes Google Street View and satellite imagery.
