Angry Birds Star Wars II coming on September 19, Telepods, join the Pork side

As previously rumored Angry Birds Star Wars II is coming, Rovio announced the game. According to Rovio this is based on the Star Wars and will be available widely on September 19th across the appstores. The new introduces the Angry Birds Star Wars characters, you can play with 30 of these characters when it launches.

Apart from the Star Wars characters, you will also get TELEPODS figures from Hasbro. According to a blog post on Rovio, placing these figures onto your smartphone or tablet camera will scan your character of choice directly into the game, allowing to select new characters on the fly (check out the video at the end of the post).

Another surprise in the game and first for the series is that this time you can choose which side you are going to fight. You can “join the pork side” to fight in the game, Rovio writes “and rumor has it that the emperor is recruiting”.
