Apple is expected to release iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, the high-end and the low-end phones next week, but these phone won’t have larger display though. They will come with the 4-inch display seen in the last iPhone that is iPhone 5.

According to WSJ sources Apple is evaluating phones with display in the range of 4.8-inches to 6-inches. Apple is particularly interested in 4.8-inch device. Apple before also tested different screen before settling for their phone displays but has not decided, the supplier chain sources feel that this time Apple will decide on the large display.

If Apple decides to go for bigger inch phones it will go head on with the likes of Galaxy S4, HTC One or the recently launched Galaxy Note 3. But even if Apple decides a larger phone we have to wait until next year to see that device in action.

So far Apple has maintained one device strategy but the market is showing lot of inclination towards larger display phones. A recent study from IDC India reveals that 30% of the smartphones shipped in India were all phablets, phones with 5-inch or larger display.
