Copy Files Faster with TeraCopy

Teracopy is a simple app for faster copying of files in Windows. If you copy and paste large files quite often then this app will simplify the work and make it faster.

It is copying files a way faster than Windows explorer, in my tests it copied files at up to 14MB/Sec speed which is good speed for copying some large files or directories.

Teracopy adds a context menu item to your mouse right click to easily add copy and move files. You can drag and drop files to it or right click any folder or file from windows explorer and select to copy or move files.

It uses dynamically adjusted buffers to speed up the transfer. You can pause the transfers in between to free up system resources and continue later.

This is one of the useful app if you copy and paste files from two hard drives or from USB drives. Teracopy is free for home users and is available for Windows XP/Vista

I just downloaded TeraCopy about a month ago and I loved the functionality that it brought. The problem I kept having was everytime used it to copy large files, it brought my computer to a crawl.

I finally had to uninstall it the other day and I’m not sure whether to miss it or just forget it. Anyone else having this problem?

@Ram it was really bad when I was copying large files off a cd to the computer. It also screwed up my file transfers when I drug files from my server with Filezilla directly to my desktop.

Well as fast as it is, it’s still dependant on your internet connection/bandwidth. So if you don’t have the best internet bandwidth, then it’s not as effective as it’s supposed to be.
