Google Play Store hits 25 billion downloads, celebrates with 25 cent apps and discounts

Google Play Store or the previously called Android Market Place has hit another milestone today. Google announced on it’s Android blog that it passed 25 billion downloads till now, the app count is standing at 675,000.

To celebrate the occasion, Google is giving discounts on apps, games and more for the next five days. Android users can select and download a collection of apps from top developers like Gameloft, EA, Rovio etc., for just $0.25. Google is also offering some special offers on music, movies, magazines etc., for example. 25 banned books, 25 movies you must own. The offers will continue for the next five days with new offers every day.

In comparison Apple Appstore has 700,000 apps on last count and hit the 25 billion downloads mark in March of this year.
