Jollo: Online Translations with Community

Jollo is an interesting concept, it combines online translations with a community around it to deliver the best translations. We all know online translators are not perfect, but we do use them for quick translation when we don’t have other means of translation. Jollo takes the approach of giving an online translation from several engines initially and later the community corrects this translation, so you get the perfect translation for free.

Enter a text in the translate text to start with, and select the desired language of translation, it can auto detect the input language. It provides results from all the supported translation engines. It also provides links for requesting translations, when you click that link it will be added to the Jollo database. The community around Jollo can translate it for you.

Give Jollo a try if you require translations, this is the first kind of service that i came across with which provides both machine translation and community translation. If they can engage the community to actively participate in helping others translations it will be really useful.

I think the most powerful online translator is http://www.live-translator.net
Also, there’s a great community of live human translators, ready to help you. If their online online translator is not good enough for your needs, you can ask a live human translator to translate your text.
