Microsoft Office for iPhone is finally here

After years of speculation and rumors finally Microsoft Office is available for iPhone. But the bad news is that there is no free trail or anything, no iPad version either, the version that is released today is only for Office 365 customers. If you are a Office 365 subscriber you can download the app that allows you to edit, Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentation on your iPhone.

The app named “Office Mobile for office 365 subscribers” is for Office 365 subscribers who can access, view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files from anywhere, that is stored in SkyDrive, SkyDrive pro or SharePoint etc. According to the app description the documents look original and supports charts, animations, SmartArt graphics and shapes. You can also create documents using your iPhone with this app.

Microsoft Office for iPhone Released

You can see the recent files you have accessed using your computer in the recent documents panel in the phone. The files you receive as email attachments can also be edited using the app. The files can be shared by email or saved back to the cloud. Files can be edited offline on iPhone and can be synced back to the cloud when you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.

The app requires Office 365 subscription and for some functions to work user need a desktop with Office 2013 installed. It works on iPhone 4 and up running iOS 6.1 or later.
