Sony Xperia Z getting Android 4.2.2 update

Sony’s this year flagship phone Xperia Z is getting Android 4.2.2 update according to reports. The update is rolling out in many countries across carriers. The carrier customized models are also getting he latest update. Like other Sony updates this also can be downloaded via the PC companion suite or through OTA update.

According to Xperia Blog the build number of the firmware is 10.3.A.0.423. Several European uses are receiving the update for C6603 model, the LTE one and also for the HSPA+ version C6602. Users are reporting the update on Sony support forums, from the posts it is clear that the US version didn’t get the update so far. But keep in mind that these updates vary by region and they will take a few more days to reach everyone.

The update is similar to the one that Xperia ZL received few weeks back. Xperia ZL offers similar specifications to that of Xperia Z. The Android 4.2.2 update brings several performance improvements, bug fixes and bunch of new features.
