Xolo to launch 4G smartphone with Airtel

Xolo is all set to launch its first 4G LTE smartphone in association with Bharti Airtel in India. Earlier in october there report that said Xolo is going to launch a 4G LTE smartphone by November called LT900, but that didn’t happen, but this time the report quotes Xolo’s Director. Bharti Airtel will launch 4G LTE network in Bengaluru around this Christmas and Xolo is launching a smartphone along with Airtel.

Xolo claims they are the first Indian brand to release a TD LTE smartphone in the country. Micromax is also expected to launch a 4G LTE smartphone in the country this month. “We are going to launch our TD-LTE device in partnership with Bharti Airtel. Airtel is the bundling partner for Xolo’s 4G TD-LTE smartphone,” Vishal Sehgal, co-founder and director of Xolo told ET Telecom. According to him the first Xolo TD-LTE smartphone shipments will start by the end of this month, that means we will see the smartphone in a few days from now on as we are in the third week of December.

Xolo will also a series of smartphones supporting TD-LTE technology at various price points according to Vishal. He expects the demand for LTE smartphones to pick up in the second half of 2014 and by 2015 the competition will become cut-throat.
