Sprout: Online Flash Widget Maker

Published on January 30, 2008   Filed Under Tools, Web 2.0

Sprout is a new startup launched today At DEMO 2008. SproutBuilder is a WYSIWYG editor for creating flash widgets.

The tool is built on the flex platform and allows users to create flash widgets with easy drag and drop features.

Currently you can create photo slideshows, images, audio juke box and few other things. Video widgets can be created by uploading videos or by entering youtube URL. Other useful widgets available are calender, news feeds, timer, chipin widgets, Google Charts, Yahoo Maps. Upcoming list of widgets include Meebo Chat, PollDaddy, Ribbit Phone.

The widgets can be placed anywhere from Myspace, facebbok to your blog. See the embedded widget with my RSS feed in this post. This is going to be a killer app for non programmers or companies who can’t spend money on these type of things.
