Nokia is teasing ‘X’ ahead of MWC

Nokia started teasing “X” in green on Nokia Conversations blog. Nokia X is expected to be an Android device, first from Nokia. Nokia teaser image shows X on green color. Prolific leaker @evleaks has teased the Nokia X with green theme yesterday, and now Nokia is outing the X with green color on its official blog. The image could be marketing material from Nokia. Nokia X is codenamed Normandy and its specs and images leaked earlier from @evleaks and others.

Nokia X is expected to be a first Android device from Nokia and is schedules to launch at MWC 2014. Nokia has forked the Android OS to suit it needs similar to Amazon, it is expected to support some of the popular apps and Nokia will have a seperate store where developers can submit ported Android apps.

The Nokia X specifications are also leaked earlier, it is expected to feature a 4-inch WVGA screen, it is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor along with 512MB RAM. It packs a 5MP rear camera, 4GB of internal storage along with micro SD support among other things.

Looking at the specifications it is clear that Nokia is aiming for the low-end of the spectrum. But it is surprising that Nokia is teasing a low-end device at an event like MWC. Nokia says the event will start on Monday, February 24 at 8:30AM, Barcelona.
