Techmeme Links To September 2008 Story, Automation or Human Error?

Today while scanning Techmeme for news i discovered a story of Guardian written in Sep 2008 is clustered with Google Chrome news. At any given time you won’t find news that is more than 2 days old in Techmeme clusters, this is a rare case, but this proves the point of Gabe Rivera that automated news doesn’t quite work.

In December 2008 Techmeme introduced Human editors to the site to correct these problems, but sometime editors also can’t avoid these kind of errors. The point is that neither algorithms nor humans are perfect in judging the things.

This is strange. Though techmeme hired human editor, such mistakes should not happen… “The point is that neither algorithms nor humans are perfect in judging the things” – true.. humans are not at all perfect and they made machines, so can’t expect they would be perfect 😉
