BBM for Android and iOS coming this week?

BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS is coming soon according to reports, may be this week. BlackBerry announced in May this year that they will release BBM to rival platforms Android and iOS. Since then there were some leaks of Android beta version etc., but it is not yet clear when BBM will be made available. But according to reports BlackBerry sent out invites for tech press in Asia for an event in Malaysia, where it is expected to announce BBM for Android and iOS as well as the Z30 smartphone. Z30 is a 5-inch smartphone running BB10 OS and this is the largest screen smartphone from BB.

Samsung Nigeria earlier tweeted that BBM for Android is coming first to Samsung phones in an exclusive deal for 3 months. This turns out to be incorrect BB has clarified to Android Central that there are no exclusive contracts and BBM for Android will be available throughout the globe.

BB has reportedly submitted the BBM for iOS to Apple appstore for approval. If it is approved then it will release both Android and iOS versions to the respective app stores. Google Play Store doesn’t require approval. If you are looking for the BBM for Android, you can see the below video to see how it works.
