Web Based P2P file sharing

Published at November 13, 2007   Filed Under Tools

Pipebytes is a service which allows you to send files via web browser. There are many services which will allow you to upload files and then you share a link with others so that they can download. All of these services have an upload limit and you have to wait until it gets uploaded to their servers. Pipebytes is different from these you in the sense don’t have to wait until the file is uploaded to the server and you can send any file size.

How it works

Open Pipebytes in your browser and select upload button, show the file location, it will give you a URL link, pass this linkto your friend. As soon as you send the link he can download it immediately. It works same P2P file sharing but in a browser.

It shows a animated status bar for download progress. While you are uploading you can watch random Youtube Videos.

Current limitation of the service is that you can not send multiple files at the same time, and only one recipient will be able to download the file. I tested the service by uploading with one browser and downloading in another, it seems to be a bit slow compared to normal download speed.

  1. FilesWire.com enables true online Browser-Based file sharing direct from your browser. It uses a combination of networks (G3 and Gnutella) so millions of files are already available. No sign up is required and there is NOTHING to download and install; you can begin sharing instantly.
