Flickr Video Launched

The much anticipated Flickr Video launched finally. It is a great addition to the already popular photo sharing site. It is no means in competition with any other video sharing sites like YouTube, but it us useful to share your personal videos and photos with all your friends at the same place.

The Flickr Video is currently enabled to only Flickr Pro users. The video length is limited to 90 sec and 150 MB size. The 90 sec length is small compared to other sites and some of our videos may be longer than that. Flickr says that the feature is to share your personal small ckips with friends and not to upload copyrighted content to Flickr.

Same like photos videos can also be tagged, searched easily. Video thumbnails can be played instantly or from the video permalink page. You can make them private or public and can be embedded on other sites. The embeddable size can be customized. The video player looks slick and the videos are very clear.
