Six Apart Launches an Ad Network and Services for Bloggers

Six Apart, the company behind Typepad and Movable Type launched a new ad network that will help bloggers. The new ad network will serve advertising for “Influential Bloggers” and “social media” sites. The advertising program is not limited to Six Apart bloggers but any one can take part in this. The backend technlogy for the advertising program is provided by Adify.

Six Apart also announced that it will provide blog consulting services for bloggers with the acquisition of Apperceptive, LLC. The services include “Power Launch”, to give your blog a solid start. Blog Tune Up will help you to take your blog to the next level. Other services include Advanced Template help and Migration and Upgrade. All the service are priced at $199. You can find more about these services here

This is a pretty smart move from Six Apart, small and medium bloggers need a good advertising support from vertical ad networks. I am not sure whether they will allow any one to enroll to their ad network, if they do that that would be good. What do you think?
