Published on June 22, 2008   By Ram  3 Comments

Feed43 is a useful service that converts any web page to RSS feed. If your favorite web site is not providing you RSS feed to keep up to date with the news, feed43 will do that for you.

How it works?

Feed43 engine converts free-form HTML or XML documents to valid RSS feeds by extracting snippets of text or HTML by means of applying search patterns, and then joining these snippets together using output templates to form user-friendly content of feed’s items. The principle of extracting specific data from source documents is also known as “HTML scraping”

To set up a feed for any web page, go to Feed43 and set the parameters to create a feed like search patters, output templates. Once you are done you will get the newly created feed url, subscribe in a feed reader. Thats all now you will have the feed for your favorite website.

Although this service works great you need to consider some things before using it. The feed update interval is 6 hours for free accounts, that means the feed will update in every 6 hours. For personal and non-commercial use it is free, but if you want for commercial use you should purchase a paid plan, in this case the feed will get updated every 1 hour.

The Feed43 site has been unresponsiveor down for 2 days now. A victim of its own success perhaps. I hope not because it is a great idea.
