Yidio is a video search portal that launched today. It claims to index 200 million videos currently, thats a lot. Video search engines like Blinkx, truveo and ofcourse Google video are doing well in this space. Another point of mention is that Yidio search is powered by Truveo, why not search for videos in Truveo itself instead of going to Yidio.
Yidio categorizes the video content as TV Shows, Movies, Music, News, Sports etc. According to Yidio you can find full length movies also, i haven’t tested how good are they and the content depth. Users can create playlists and save the favorite videos to my videos. It is also trying to lure users by paying for playlists via Adsense Income Split.
If Yidio wants to stick in video search space it has to show some differentiating features from other sites.
