Micromax has entered the Russian market in partnership with VVP Group. Micromax is planning for expansion for overseas from quite sometime and earlier reports said that it will enter Russia and later expand to Europe. Micromax has entered into a partnership with VVP group which is a leading distributor in the country. Micromax will release atleast 14 smartphones in Russia this year and will expand further.
As part of the Russian operations Micromax has released Micromax Beat and Micromax Social devices in the country. Micromax will launch its successful Canvas series and Bolt series of phones in Russia. Bolt in the lower end and Canvas series in the mid-range segment are instrumental in Micromax’s success in India. Micromax hopes to repeat its success in India elsewhere, we have to how foreign markets will receive its handsets.
Micromax has set an ambitious target of becoming the 4th largest phone brand in Russia by the end of this year. Micromax is currently the number 2 smartphone brand in India. It sold nearly 35million Canvas and Bolt series phones in India. Micromax is opening 60 operations service centers in Russia by the end of this month, it will also open exclusive stores across the country in the near future.
