Microsoft PowerApps allows anyone to create business apps

Microsoft has launched a new service called PowerApps that allows anyone to create business app for their business with out knowing any coding. That means employees of any business can create apps for their use and share with their colleagues with out any knowledge of coding and these apps work seamlessly on iOS, Android and Windows as well. ZDNet reports that PowerApps service for now is a limited preview and is invite only for the moment.

PowerApps runs on Microsoft’s Azure platform and allows customers to create apps that work on any device using a MS Office like experience. Customers will get templates to get started and work with visual designer to automate workflows. The apps are connected to other services using built-in connections or connectors created by your organization. PowerApps can connect to services like Office 365, Dynamics CRM, Salesforce, Dropbox and OneDrive and on-premises systems including SharePoint, SQL Servers and Oracle databases. PowerApps can be shared like documents with other uses in your organization, according to Microsoft.

PowerApps will dramatically accelerate how business apps are built, reducing time to solution from weeks or months to minutes and empowering a new category of app creators. It balances power between IT and business users, arming those closest to business needs with tools and services to not just envision but also implement the solution.  It moves what has been for decades a set of scenarios that typically only run on-premises with PCs to being centered in the cloud and delivered mobile-first.

PowerApps service pricing is not yet revealed by Microsoft, but it will be available as Free. Standard and Enterprise versions. The versions differ on how many licenses are needed and how data is accessed using services. If you are interested in the PowerApps you can see the website www.PowerApps.com and request invites as it is currently invite only.
