Qualcomm Toq smartwatch launches on December 2nd for $350

Qualcomm announced today that they will start selling Toq smartwatch from Cyber Monday, that is December 2nd for a price of $350. Qualcomm’s Toq will show Qualcomm’s tech including Mirasol Display which provides an always on experience according to Qualcomm, is is even visible in bright sunlight. It will also showcase AllJoyb interactions and WiPower LE wireless charging.

The Toq smartwatch is highly power efficient, it runs for 3 days on a single charge. The watch is always on with out on and off like a traditional watch and it will display notifications and content when paired with a smartphone. Toq will work with any smartphone running running Android 4.0.3 and up, Jelly Bean 4.3 is preferred though.

Toq demonstrates the benefits of significant technologies, such as:

  • Mirasol display technology – always on, always visible reflective display technology that utilizes ambient light to enable a crisp and clear viewing experience even in bright sunlight;
  • Qualcomm WiPower™ LE technology – enables a hassle-free, true “drop and go” wireless charging experience; and
  • Stereo Bluetooth audio experience – first truly wireless stereo headphones that sit outside the ear canal for all day comfort and wearability.

Apart from alerts it also allows users to take calls and talk with optional wireless headset. Qualcomm will sell the limited edition watch from December 2nd on toq.qualcomm.com site for $349.99.

This is just the beginning for wearable tech and we will see more companies releasing smartwatches in the near future. Samsung, Sony and others has already released smartwatches, Google and Apple are also expected to release smartwatches in the near future.
