Samsung, HTC release open source files for Google Play editions

Samsung and HTC both released open source files for the Google Play editions of their flagship phones Galaxy S4 and HTC One respectively. The files contain open source component of the ROMs, that means the OTA updates are on the way for both these Google Play edition phones. HTC already announced earlier that it will release the code for HTC One Google Play edition.

The open source files released today are not complete ROMs, they are meant for developers. The released code include Kernel source code and framework support files for the GPe devices. The OTA update might be in the offering, it might be released this week. The HTC released Framework support files package is 371.7 MB and the Stock UI is 99.8M<B in size.

If you don’t have patience to wait for the OTA update to come to your Google Play edition, check in your phone settings manually for the update later today.
