BSNL and Pantel Launch 3 Tablets

BSNL has launched 3 new tablets today, these tablets are made by Noida based Pantel. Out of the three two tablets are 7inch and one is 8inch screen tablet. The cheapest among the three is just Rs. 3250/-, but along with BSNL 3 months data plan it costs Rs. 3499. Looks like BSNL and Pantel are gunning for Aakash tablet which is priced at Rs. 2276. The three tablets are priced at Rs. 3,250, Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 13,500

T-Pad IS701R, the cheapest of the lot with Rs. 3250, comes with Android 2.3, with 7 inch TFT resistive touch screen with 16:9, 800×600 screen resolution. Other specifications include IMAP210 1GHz CPU, DDR@ 256 MB RAM, and 2GB internal Flash memory that can be extended to 32 GB using an external card. This tablet supports Wi-Fi but no 3G. A rudimentary camera with 0.3MP camera is there, Li-on battery 3000mAh and one USB port.

T-Pad WS704C has better specifications than the T-Pad IS701R. It comes loaded with Android 2.3 upgradable to Android 4.0. It has 7 inch capacitate multi touch screen with 800 x600 resolution, 1GHz processor, 512MB DDRIII RAM. Internal flash memory of 4GB and can be expanded upto 32GB using external card. Supports Bluetooth, i-Fi and 3G connectivity. In Built GPS, HDMI 1080P & 720P, 3.5mm stereo phone jack, 2.0MP rear camera and 0.3MP front facing camera, Polymer battery 4000mAh. This tablet is priced at Rs. 10,999.

T-Pad WS802C has similar specifications as T-Pad WS704C except a better processor. It also comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread loaded. CPU in this tablet is Cortex A8 1.2 GHz. This tablet is priced at Rs. 13,500.

What BSNL has to do with the launch you may wonder, BSNL is offering data plans bundled with these tablets. As a special launch offer BSNL is giving free data plan for 3 months. The tablet will come with BSNL 2G SIM bundled with the tablet and a Penta data plan. If the user uses the data for 12 months along with 3 free months then he can recover the cost of the tablet according to BSNL and Pantel. The tablet with the data plan for 3 months costs Rs. 3499 and with our data plan costs Rs. 3250.
