Yahoo and Blogger to provide OpenID

OpenID is the next big thing for bettermanagement of online identities with different sites. If you are new to OpenID here is a quick explanation, you select a OpenID provider and then using this ID you can login to all OpenID supported sites with out ever bothering about registrations.

Both Yahoo and Blogger announce that they are providing OpenID’s, this is a good move for the users because both of them are trusted sites. But these are not yet fully functional, Yahoo will start the public Beta from Jan 30th. Blogger draft users can use their credentials as OpenID at other sites. “To enable OpenID for your blogs, just edit your profile on draft.blogger.com and enable the checkbox which says Enable OpenID for Blogs and you are all set!”

Yahoo provides OpenID’s, but you can’t login to Yahoo using your own OpenID, i think this will take time. But this is something positive in the right direction.
