Samsung Galaxy Chat announced, Android 4.0, QWERTY Keyboard

Samsung has announced a new phone in the Galaxy line of smartphones. Recently images of this phone leaked online and today came the official announcement. Don’t expect this as a some high end Galaxy phone, this is a low end device that comes loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and with full QWERTY Keyboard.

The Samsung Galaxy Chat is dubbed as a phone for the socially-active people by Samsung, it has a 3’ LCD screen with QVGA display at modest 240×320 resolution. It is powered by a 850MHz processor, Samsung has not specified the RAM, but since it runs on Android ICS it might be atleast 512MB. It comes with Samsung applications including ChatON for mobile communication and it runs on Android ICS and skinned with TouchWiz UI.


Other specifications include a 2megapixel rear camera, AGPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G. It has an internal memory of 4GB, expandable upto 32GB with an external SD card.

Samsung Galaxy Chat will be available from this month end, it will first launch in Spain and across Europe, later will be introduces in other markets including, Latin America, Middle East and Asia. The price of the device is not yet known, but Samsung says it will be priced competitively.
