Wordpress founder Matt recently wrote about plans to offer hosted forums much like Wordpress.com blogs at Automattic.

Today on a phone conversation with Houston Chronicle’s Dwight Silverman Matt said the the upcoming forums will be called as “Talkpress”.

Talkpress is built on BBPress, the forum board software from Wordpress. According to Matt the Talkpress will be “smaller, lighter, with fewer features but a richer customization API.

So expect something like awesome wordpress with ability to extend it by using plugins (sort of). Thanks Matt
