Idea Cellular launched a range of 3G smartphones to attract its 2G subscribers to its 3G services. Idea launched these smartphones in association with Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE. According to Idea Cellular executive this excercise is to create the ecosystem for its 3G penetration and they have no interest in entering the handset business.

Apple is now letting game companies to offer monthly subscriptions like newspaper or magazine subscriptions according to Bloomberg report. Currently game developers could only sell in-app purchases and required users to download the game.
